Whānau Leadership Team and Amokura

Whānau Leader Role:

  • Co-construct with Whānau staff a Programme of Learning that is cognitively challenging to meet the needs of the AC vision statement – creating an environment that fosters a sense of belonging, values learning and expects success
  • Develop connections / learning relationships with Whānau staff
  • Monitor, follow up and support Amokura
  • Develop leadership in learners and Amokura
  • Ensure clear communication with Amokura around systems and procedures for addressing learner absences
  • Co-construct with Amokura systems and procedures for academic monitoring & counselling and individual Personalised Learning Pathway Plans

Amokura Role:

Pastoral care

  • Develop connections / learning relationships with learners
  • Communication with Whānau
  • Communication with Learning Leaders
  • Advising about Learning Pathways

Administration

  • Attendance monitoring and follow up
  • Utilising KAMAR to log pastoral information
  • Utilising KAMAR to inform in relation to pastoral issues

Driving Whānau and School Values

  • Foster the AC Way and expectations
  • Motivating learners to participate
  • Academic monitoring and counselling through individual Personalised Learning Pathway Plans
  • Holistic monitoring of all learners
